The Science of Birdsong: What Do Birds Communicate Through Their Songs?

Whenever anybody sings naturally, it sings about its feelings. The birds only sing when they must-when their feelings find their way out somehow. The feelings that birds sing about are always happy feelings. When a bird is ill or miserable or unhappy it never sings. It only sings when it is well. Generally, birds sing to express their feelings of love and to tell other birds that they have acquired a hunting territory of their own and will not permit trespassing.
